高定向热解石墨 HOPG（Highly Oriented Pyrolytic Graphite）是一种新型高纯度碳,是热解石墨经高温高压处理后制得的一种新型石墨材料，其性能接近单晶石墨。主要应用包括X射线单色器、中子滤波器和单色器、石墨基本性能研究、大尺寸石墨层间化合物基本研究等。为显微分析人员提供了一种可重复使用的平滑表面。与云母不同的是，高定向热解石墨（HOPG）完全无极性适用于元素分析，并且分析信号中仅有碳原子背景信号。高定向热解石墨（HOPG）优良的表面光滑性使其可以作为空白背景，除非分辨率达到原子级水平。
ZYA级
开裂面看不出任何分层，马赛克扩散角为0.4° +/- 0.1°。此级产品通一般于仪器校准或特殊的科研实验。
ZYB级
每个高定向热解石墨（HOPG）块可得到15-20个裂片，马赛克扩散角为0.8° +/- 0.2°。可适用于大多数科学研究领域，易于修复更新。与ZYA级相比，一些用户更喜欢此种高定向热解石墨（HOPG），因为其裂片梯级稍呈波纹状，样品更容易固定（有更好的附着力）。
ZYD级
马赛克扩散角为 1.2° ± 0.2°。可适用于大多数科学研究领域，价格便宜。
ZYH级
马赛克扩散角为3.5° +/- 1.5°。当纯度相同时，此种等级的高定向热解石墨（HOPG）的可分裂性比其它低等级的稍差一些，晶粒尺寸不会超过30-40 nm，不能满足多数实验的要求。但由于价格低廉，适于学生实验使用。
马赛克扩散- 此项指标用于衡量高定向热解石墨（HOPG）的定向度。马赛克扩散越小，高定向热解石墨（HOPG）定向度越高，从而裂片表面呈现的梯级越少。马赛克扩散越低，高定向热解石墨（HOPG）价格越高，但其可分裂性越好，产生的裂片相应越多，这在某种程度上提高了材料的性价比。
